dc.description.extractThe findings suggest that social construction theory is helpful in understanding the content of political rhetoric. Using social construction theory, this research shows DACA recipients are “positively” constructed but “politically” weak. Therefore, Donald Trump’s rhetoric was mixed throughout 2015-2018. It is clear that he vacillated between supporting and opposing DACA recipients.
