dc.description.extractHistorically, the unam has always been linked to other educational institutions. In this sense, the connection between our alma mater and the University of Texas at Austin has fostered immense academic achievements, including student exchanges, collaboration on scientific research, strengthening strategic relations, or publishing alliances. ut Austin has also distinguished itself for its interest in preserving and promoting Hispanic American collections and archives. The Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection, for example, is a world-renowned space for knowledge, research, and academic study. It boasts more than a million volumes and a large number of original manuscripts, photographs, and diverse documents involving Latin America: truly a treasure. ut Austin also hosts the Ransom Center, an internationally recognized research center, whose collections offer a unique vision of the creative process of some of the world’s best men and women writers and artists. Among other treasures are the Gabriel García Márquez Library, the celebrated collection of Edgar Allan Poe letters and manuscripts, and an important Frida Kahlo work. Soon, the archives of a beloved woman Nicaraguan writer will also be available.
